Gervasutti Couloir of the Tour Ronde 5.12.10

Post by Diamond Dachshund »

The last few weeks the forecasters have literally been copy and pasting the forecast: sunny spells in the morning with thunderstorms and snow in the afternoons.

Today we ventured up to see what the abundant snowfall above 3000m would provide us. Our objective was the Tour Ronde. Not difficult to access, nor extremely long, it is a good objective during questionable weather.

The "other" Gervasutti doesn't often provide good snow according to reports, but today it couldn't get much better.

Good skiing on the Arete right now. Several groups headed to the North Face of the Midi today.

Near the top there were some rocks, but nothing serious.

Tell me about leisurely dining sur la terrasse after your descent. Pizza? Pastry and double express? Damn I'd like to go play in Cham.

That wasn't very extreme. Its the "training" Gervasutti for the big one on the Mont White of Tacul.

IMAGINE: SKIING IT WAS ACTUALLY NO...NO....NO....FUN!

Nothing happened today except a gueule de bois with some Kenny G and cans of Orangina. It just wont stop snowing.
