Estatus Update, Chile, Late Aug - early Sept.

Greeting SkiSickness readers! Drew Tabke here with a report from the central andes.
The snow has been thin here, which is to say I'm still unemployed, have no car, and ski almost everyday. Some days I channel my inner gangster and ski in the terrain park at El Colorado or Valle Nevado, but sometimes I look down my nose at neanderthal snowboarder and skibladers and backcountry ski my heart out. I've enjoyed great skiing around the Farellones area, and just got back to Santiago from three days in Las Trancas, which is the base village for Nevados de Chillan some 6 hours south of here. A nice weekend is coming up where I hope to ski near or on Cerro Altar.
Since I've been skiing so much lately, I've really cut down on drinking. Which is to say I only get drunk 4 nights a week and have upped my average hours of sleep/night from 2 to 6.
I have but a few weeks left here before I return to Seattle, which I'm really looking forward to. Which is to say my girlfriend and I have no place to live, are minimally employed, and will be living in a tent near Darrington. Do visit. Or better yet inform me if you know of a good one bedroom for rent.

High altitude coastal snowpack = CO powder without lingering instabilities. El Colorado road laps.

Valle Nevado slacking to the tune or 1,400m. Love it.
Lunch = water and tuna.
Nevados de Huemul. Its like Baker mixed with some Russia and a helping of Japan.
If you could see the hotsprings we just got out of you'd be upset with me.
My friend Goñi's pad in Las Trancas. Its like Hawaii mixed with Oregon with an extra helping of Germany.
