Here's a different kind of trip report. The Jemez Mountains are on fire and Los Alamos is under voluntary evacuation.

This fire started in the mountains at about 1 pm today. These pictures are from 8-9 pm.

Dunno. I'll probably throw some stuff in my car right now and see what they're saying/how it looks in the morning. The Lab is closed tomorrow at the very least.

The winds have shifted this afternoon. On the radio right now, mandatory evacuation going into effect. My most important belongings (read: climbing gear) are in my car and I'll be on my way soon.

Who wants to climb? Holler. Colorado and Utah are on the itinerary.

Shit me. That's huge! I guess a mountain on fire is quite a big fire, but it's hard to imagine. I would climb with you if I could warp over for the long weekend.

Epic!
I have a friend / climbing partner / co-worker down there in NM right now (Santa Fe? [Institute]) who might be interested? Don't know... I took him to Index....

Ha. I heard about the fire near the lab and I was wondering if you were having some extra time off to go climbing. Enjoy! Hope none of the nuclear haz mat burns up though.
