eastside smalltime'n

Post by danhelmstadter »

Smalltime'n cause none of the routes i've climbed over the last 4 days are longer than a pitch... lots of fun climbing though.

I met up with Telemarker friday evening at alphabet rock, and we climbed meat grinder (10a), and z crack (10c) a couple times (Telemarker led), z crack was pretty exciteing and pumpy for me. I came back the next afternoon and tr soloed meat grinder 8 times, feeling better with each lap, then flailed on some boulders till dark. Sunday afternoon, Alison and I headed up the iceicle to "wort wall" and climbed a few slabby routes, one, a 10b was heinously runout, I was very gripped on the scant featured slab, cause a fall would'a been 40+' and probably over and around a corner too, scary shite.
Yesterday Alison and I headed to frenchman's coulee for the afternoon, and climbed 7 or so 5.8-5.10 sport routes in a few diffeant locals on the coulee, all of which were super fun, and had a way differant feel than what i've experienced so far in Ltown.

random dude on meat grinder, alphabet rock.

I've been looking at those solo devices. Not at all surprised to see you using one.

Apparently, now Helmstadter climbs more than I do, too. Damn.
