Looked out the window this morning and it was snowing. Guess it's time to go skiing again.
The Rio Grande Gorge between Espanola and Taos is beautiful. It was snowing pretty hard on my way to Taos.
My 4wd kicked some serious ass up the road to 10,200 ft at the upper end of Taos Ski Valley. I had to pee. I slammed the car door and immediately realized I'd locked my keys in there. I was wearing my sandals with no socks and it was cold and snowing. After about 45 minutes on my 4th stick I found one that worked the magic.
Then I made my way up Kachina Peak. This rugged side of the peak just outside the ski area boundary should make for good entertainment in an average snow year.
Some prayer flags at the top of Kachina Peak.
The skiing was all right.
Now we return to the real reason for this trip report: pictures of the Rio Grande Gorge.
